KOCHI: The ocean surface temperature in the Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal was a half degree warmer than the temperatures expected at this time of the year. It could be one of the reasons for the heavy spell caused by the North-East monsoon in the state.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: So far, four lives have been lost and 697.13 acres of farm land affected ever since the North- East monsoon set in the State, according to the Monsoon Calamities Cell opened here.
