April 1: The century-old Singareni collieries decided to offer six of its coal mines to private developers at a cost plus basis. Javaharkhani Opencast, Kothagudem Opencast in Khammam district, Chennur-1 and 2 and Ramakrishnapur Shaft block in
Adilabad district and Kakatiya Longwall in Warangal district have been identified for private participation.

ADILABAD, March 28: Industries in the district, mainly ginning and oil mills, are indulging in grave violation of pollution norms, contaminating ground water, tanks and damaging standing crops and affecting yield in the surrounding villages besides causing death of cattle and fish.

NIZAMABAD, Oct. 20: North Telangana is reeling from dengue fever: the combined death toll in Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Warangal districts has reached 100.
