The SC directed the Union of India as well as the Government of NCT of Delhi to convene a meeting for working out the feasibility of installation of smog towers which would take care of the smog within certain range of kilometers, to say 3 to 10 kms and place a proposal before the SC "as it is an urgent matter from the point of view of Delhi."

Apex Court comes down heavily on the authorities saying "in spite of various directions issued by High Court, other authorities including this Court the State Governments, Government of NCT of Delhi and the corporations of Delhi and nearby States are not performing their duties as enjoined upon them."
