Response to the status report filed by the Central Pollution Control Board by Kankana Das. The report was in compliance with the NGT order dated March 15, 2023.

The NGT, March 15, 2023 had directed the CPCB to examine action plans for air pollution submitted by states independently and to file a status report.

A joint committee was directed by the NGT to look into the encroachment of government land by coal tar plant in village Rampura Patwar Mandal, Sewapur, district Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The committee was asked to file a report within two months.

Grievance in the application is against operation of two brick kilns (Jai Mata brick field and Gagan brick field) in tehsil Roorkee, district Haridwar, Uttarakhand. According to the applicant, their operation is against the siting criteria laid down under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India (MoEF&CC) Notification dated February 22, 2022 issued under the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Suo Motu Action in Illegal Dumping of Coal at Railway Siding at Krishnashila, Sonbhadra Vs Union of India & Others dated 02/05/2023.

Grievance in the application is against violation of environmental norms by dumping of coal in 35 bighas in the vicinity of residential area at Krishnashila railway siding, Bina, Shaktinagar, district Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, which is the land of the Northern Coal Field Limited. Coal has been dumped without any permission and is accumulated through illegal transportation from coal fields.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on April 28, 2023, issued the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (Imposition, Collection, and Utilization of Environmental Compensation for Stubble Burning) Rules, 2023.

In 2019, the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) under the Government of India launched the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), which proposes strategies to reduce air pollution in several cities in India.

Jharkhand is a mineral-rich state in India. Its cities have access to various solid fuels and proximity to several heavy industries. These factors, along with the movement of traffic (public and goods), contribute to air pollution in the state.

Impacts of air pollution on public health have been a matter of increasing research interest, however, gender-specific risk factors and outcomes remain comparatively under studied.
