JAIPUR: The state government has identified 20 districts as focus districts to provide quality medical facilities for reducing infant mortality rate in the state.

Most of the focus districts are situated in western Rajasthan including Jaisalmer, Barmer and Jodhpur.

Enthused by the emergence of the NCR sub-region of Bhiwadi- Neemrana-Alwar as a major automobile manufacturing hub in the country, the Rajasthan Government is considering a special package to the sector.

A recently deputed Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer in Alwar was driven off by a mob when he stumbled upon an alleged case of illegal mining while conducting a survey in the area. The mob also allegedly roughed up some homeguards deployed to prevent illegal mining.

Alwar: Having received flak on several occasions for its failure in containing illegal mining in Aravalli ranges, the Rajasthan government seems to have woken up at last.
On Thursday, in a joint operation with mines department, the Alwar district administration seized 27 trucks and arrested 17 persons involved in illegal mining in the region.
