Jaipur: There could be more than one tiger on the prowl in Rajasthan and neighbouring states from the Ranthambore National Park. The suspicion grew stronger after forest officials on Sunday discovered the carcass of a blue bull in Bharatpur.

Exactly one week after it strayed into Uttar Pradesh, a missing tiger from Ranthambhore was believed to have been spotted in the Ghana Wildlife Sanctuary on Monday.

A herd of wild elephants destroyed standing crops and property worth several lakhs at Hodachahalli, Agani, Maragunda, Hanabalu hobli villages of the taluk recently.

The main entrance gate and compound wall of Bhairaweshwara temple was damaged by the jumbos at Maragunda hills in Mudigere- Sakleshpur border region on same night.

Jaipur/New Delhi: The strayed tiger spotted near Mathura on Monday continued to elude forest officials for the second day. On Tuesday, the animal, identified as a young sub-adult male, was spotted about two to three times at different spots near Beri village, about 8-9km away from the national highway.

TIRUNELVELI: The recent retrieval of carcasses of wild boars and sambar deer from the Tamirabharani and also from the bushes on the reserve forest periphery seems to be only a tip of the iceberg as good number of carcasses of these animals are still strewn around in the forest.

Two rogue tuskers have destroyed jowar and sunflower fields on Yagati road near Birur.

The rogue tuskers came from Arasikere on Thursday night and on Friday morning they were seen near Birur. At about 8 am, they entered the jowar field of Dogehalli Thimmarayappa and destroyed the farmland.
