Nearly 80 fishing trawlers, with an average of 10 men in each, are missing in cyclone-hit Arabian Sea, organisations of fishermen along the west coast said on Wednesday.

The Indian Meteorological Department has sounded a cyclone alert for Gujarat and Maharashtra. A depression over the Arabian Sea is likely to intensify in the coming days and move towards the north and northeast.
