Adani Group today said it has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Australia-based firm Carbon Energy to form a joint venture to pursue Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) projects in India.

GMR Infrastructure, the Bangalore-based developer of power plant, airports, roads and urban infrastructure, is understood to be closing in on its second coal mine acquisition in Indonesia. The mine is expected to cost close to $150 million and has reserves of close to 200 million tonne.

Ahmedabad: Adani group chairman Gautam Adani on Monday reiterated that the group is committed to investing $6.9 billion in developing the mine, rail and port project for its Galilee Basin coal mine.
