Pune The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) Board has opted for a private-public partnership (PPP) to buy 650 buses, including 200 AC coaches, under the JNNURM scheme. The project is worth Rs 400 crore.

As many as 100 will be Volvo buses run on diesel and the rest will be CNG-run. The private players will decide the AC bus fares, which will be 1.25 to 2.5 times the regular fare.

Hyderabad, May 15: The APSRTC has decided to introduce 1,500 low floor buses in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

The low floor buses are safer since they have no steps, have large sliding windows, handle bars, pneumatic doors and more space for standing passengers. They are expected to improve accessibility and prevent mishaps.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first set of low floor air-conditioned city buses will roll along the city roads by the end of June.

New Delhi: Two months ago, a low-floor DTC bus caught fire. Over 70 passengers trapped inside had to break the thick glass of the bus windows and jump to safety on Mandir Marg in Central Delhi around 7.20 pm.

The special education cum vocational training institutions of Gujranwala district will be getting 16 new buses with rupees 20 million altogether. Commissioner Gujranwala, Khalid Masood Chaudhry made the decision while chairing a meeting here on Monday, which was also attended by DCO Gujranwala, district officer special education and other officials of the district government.
