IIn 1987, the Montreal Protocol phased out the use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), an ozone-depleting substance (ODS) used as coolants in refrigeration and air conditioning. Unfortunately, the chemicals increasingly being deployed in their place, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) are themselves exceptionally potent greenhouse gases.

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) organised a Stakeholder Workshop on Air quality and transportation challenges in Kathmandu on December 27 in collaboration with Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Nepal. 

Cities are choking because of their own construction and demolition (C&D) waste with serious environmental consequences warned the sustainable building experts at the conference organised by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) & Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA). 

CSE in collaboration with Guthi, Kathmandu, Nepal organised a training workshop from on “New Media & Information Management Systems for Strategic Communication in Development” from 12-13 December 2013, at Thapathali, Kathmandu, Nepal.

This study aims to provide a detailed examination of the processes by which land is procured by private companies undertaking public purpose projects, as well as the role of the state in these transfers.

The paper gives an overview of the energy resource governance in India. It illustrates the energy-poverty challenge and the emerging energy scenario in the country.
