Land acquisition rate recommended in three villages

With a compensation of over Rs 1.5 crore an acre for the acquisition of their land for international airport, landowners of Jheorheri are having the laugh. But a few kilometres away, landowners in Rasenheri, Swara and Jhanjheri may not hit the jackpot.

New Delhi: With a view to ensuring that all road accident victims get compensation on time, the Supreme Court has asked the Centre to create a Road Accident Fund (RAF) through levy of cess/surcharge on petrol and diesel and credit it to such Fund.
