As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, a mega health camp was organised by Vedanta Aluminium Ltd (VAL) here on Sunday. The camp was aimed at treating and providing medical attention to inhabitants of the town besides an open invitation to all residents of peripheral villages.

Sixty seven per cent of domestic companies have chosen non-government organisations (NGOs) as partners to undertake their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, while 58 per cent prefer government departments for the spread of CSR obligations, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) says.

Indian paper industry is clearly in step with the government objectives of industrial development, employment generation (primarily rural), increase in literacy and environment protection.
