Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rohit Choudhury Vs Union of India & Others dated 01/02/2018 regarding animal deaths in Kaziranga National Park due to accidents on the highway. The State of Assam has placed before the Court an alternative proposal to installation of Automated Animal Sensor Barriers. The Court observed that except revealing the budgetary constraints there is no explanation or revelation of the special circumstance or reason to go for the alternative proposal.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vardhaman Kaushik Vs. Union of India & Others dated 31/01/2018 regarding registration of BS-IV compliant vehicles. The application have been moved by the purchasers of BS-IV compliant new diesel vehicles to be used as Ambulance/Medical Emergency Van for registration of the said vehicles.

NGT allows these applications directing the Transport Commissioner, Transport Department, Government of NCT Delhi to register the BS-IV compliant vehicles subject to certain conditions.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gaurav Kumar Bansal Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 29/01/2018 regarding arsenic contamination of groundwater, Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Counsel appearing on behalf of respondent UP Jal Nigam submits that no water samples from borewells within the limits of Sambhal Nagar Palika were collected, and such water samples will be collected and analyzed in due course.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhash Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 25/01/2018 regarding air pollution in the cities of Kolkata and Howrah. NGT directs that a comprehensive study of the ambient air quality should be undertaken by a Committee which shall be headed by the Regional Officer of the CPCB, who shall monitor the work of the Committee and submit a regular report. The study shall be undertaken to cover whole of the two cities.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Atikur Laskar Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 25/01/2018 regarding operation of illegal brick field in the name of Samrat Brick Field by Jiad Ali Seikh at village Gazirchawk Naskarpara, Jalaberia, South 24 Parganas. The brick field is not complying with the pollution norms including want of certificate from the State PCB. NGT directs the State PCB to inspect the unit in question and submit report.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs Sheela Hospital & Trauma Centre & Others dated 25/01/2018 regarding bio-medical waste management in states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana. The Applicant has stated that Sheela Hospital & Trauma Centre, Kailash Hospital and Heart Institute, Shri Ganga Charan Hospital (P) Ltd., Katiyar Nursing Home in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Boar has violated the directions with regard to treating bio-medical waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jan Sahyog Manch Vs. Union of India & Others dated 24/01/2018 regarding phasing out of PVC pipes containing lead.

MoEF is directed to issue general directions to the industries to publish a caveat with each product of PVC pipes containing lead, which are going to be phased out, that it contains lead which is harmful to the health.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench) in the matter of Ram Lakhan Singh Vs State of Jharkhand & Others dated 23/01/2018 regarding various government structures and establishments existing within the protected forest areas in the Dumka district, Jharkhand.

It has been admitted before the Court that various government establishments and structures were either in existence from before or had been raised in the forest area without clearance being sought for under the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980.
