The affidavit filed by the Chief Secretary, Govt. of Meghalaya states that Jowai Municipal Board has set up common ETPs and STPs and the letter calling for expression of interest has been floated for engagement of a suitable and qualified consultant for preparation of the DPR.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Balbir Singh Vs. The Chairman, IHBAS & Others dated 18/01/2018 regarding biomedical waste management by the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, Delhi.

NGT directs the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, Delhi to communicate to the Central Pollution Control Board all particulars of the microwave waste treatment unit to be installed within a week and seek its advice of the said treatment unit and install and commission the unit within next one month.

Union of India & Others dated 18/01/2018 regarding relocation of the Bandhwari Solid Waste Plant and landfill site away from the forest and Aravali Hill area in time bound manner. The Court's attention has been drawn to the deteriorating situation at the landfill site as per the inspection report of the carried out by the Central Pollution Control Board of the dump site.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Shivaji Chatterjee Vs Himadri Chemical & Others dated 16/01/2018 regarding pollution caused by Himadri Chemicals, Singur, West Bengal. The Applicant Shivaji Chatterjee prays for an interim direction for inspection of the unit by a Committee which had conducted similar inspection earlier in terms of the order of the State PCB dated 23.03.2010 in view of the unabated pollution resulting due to the operation of the unit and the deleterious effect on the villagers caused by such pollution.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s Hi-Tech Layer Farms Ltd. Vs. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board dated 15/01/2018 regarding pollution caused by Hi-Tech Layer Farms, Shaamli, Uttar Pradesh. The Court refused to change its order regarding closure of the poultry farm that a six year old had objected to saying the smell was causing breathing problems among children. Court directs the birds to be removed from the poultry farm and disposed of in accordance with law.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajiv Narayan & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 15/01/2018 regarding generation of hazardous waste and its disposal. The Court had asked for filing of an independent application in relation to management of bio-medical hazardous waste in the States of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand and NCT of Delhi. Notice issued to State of Uttarakhand and NCT of Delhi why they have not given the answers to the queries made to them vide order dated 29-08- 2017.
