Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Thomas Nongtdu & Others. Vs. State of Meghalaya & Others dated 21/07/2016 regarding illegal coal mining, Meghalaya. Counsel appearing for the State of Meghalaya has filed a Status Report which mentions that there is 30,12,309 metric ton of coal lying in open for which the royalty has not been obtained.

Tribunal directs the State of Meghalaya to file an affidavit placing the complete methodology on record as to how they propose to deal with the disposal of the coal vested in the State.
