Tax on hydropower generation sought

Shimla: The state Assembly today unanimously adopted a private member resolution, urging the Centre to allow the state to impose a cess on the hydropower generated to meet the fiscal deficit.

It also sought consent for the Bill passed earlier by the House in this regard which was pending with the President.
