This document is the annual European Union (EU) emission inventory report under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP Convention) (UNECE, 1979).

Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in the country to come up with this inventory of greenhouse emissions (CGH). The energy sectors account for the highest amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the State with emissions touching 82.79 million tons of CO2 equivalent (eq) in 2013-14. Of this, 37.026 million tons of CO2 eq were emitted from electricity generation.

The Briefing 'Trends and drivers in greenhouse gas emissions in the EU in 2016', shows that the emission decrease in 2016 was mainly due to using less coal to produce heat and electricity. Greenhouse gas emissions from road transport increased for the third year in a row.

New report reveals 13 solutions to air pollution that can help reduce pollution levels by 40% nationally. A new study by Louisiana State University (LSU) points out towards 13 measures that can reduce air pollution levels by almost 40 percent and avoid nine lakh premature deaths caused by air pollution in India every year.

The EEA's 'Annual European Union greenhouse gas inventory 1990-2016 and inventory report 2018' shows a 0.4 % decrease in the total EU greenhouse gas emissions in 2016, compared with 2015. From 1990 to 2016, the EU has reduced its net greenhouse gas emissions by 22.4 %, surpassing its 20 % reduction target by 2020.

The Environment Ministry came out with a draft national action plan proposing multiple strategies to reduce air pollution. However, a green body claimed that the draft lacked its earlier set target of bringing down air pollution by 50 per cent in five years.

The purpose of this study is to establish consumption-based GHG inventories to enable C40 to better understand the ability of cities to contribute to GHG emissions reduction activities beyond their city boundaries.

The Ministry of Environment and Forests targets 35% reduction of air pollution in the next three years and 50% reduction in the next five years for at least 100 cities across India. The listed cities will have their own city-specific action plans.

Ships are an efficient way to move cargo, transporting approximately 80% of the world’s goods by volume, but ships also threaten human health, ecosystems, and the climate. This report focuses on the air and climate pollutant black carbon (BC).

Over the past decade, India has taken several steps to address climate change while supporting long-term development objectives. This paper analyzes the climate change mitigation goals that have been set and the key policies that have been and are being implemented.
