A 32 page preliminary investigation report into the environmental carrying capacity for polluting projects and allied issues in Tamnar and Gharghoda blocks of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh made public on Februry 26, 2020 on the National Green Tribunal (NGT) website. The report was in response to the NGT order of July 22, 2019.

According to the complaint, huge amount of fly ash was generated and accumulated causing air pollution which resulted in diseases to the inhabitants. Complainant alleged that he was suffering from TB as per the report of the Civil Hospital, Jhajjar.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Utilization of Fly Ash, 12/07/2019. As per Central Electricity Authority (CEA) report,the utilization of fly ash has increased from 66.6 million-ton in 2008-09 to 132 million-ton in 2017-18. In the year 201718, the overall utilization of fly ash in various application was 67 %.

(P) Ltd. and M/s Jhajjar Power Ltd. (CLP India) in District Jhajjar. According to the complaint, huge amount of fly ash is generated and accumulated causing air pollution which results in diseases to the inhabitants. A report submitted by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board also confirmed huge amount of fly ash accumulated at the two thermal power plants.

Allegations in the application are that the LPGC is using fresh water in excess of permitted limit, not monitoring ambient air quality, not carrying out waste water treatment and is violating green belt plantation requirement around the plant.
