Apex Court wants to whether the Draft Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules, 2016 which were said to have been circulated some time in March, 2016 have been finalized or not and, if not, reasons for the delay. Supreme Court also asks the Union of India to specify the steps taken to preserve the 26 wetlands covered by the Ramsar Convention, 1971.
