Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Raj Kumar Singal Vs State of Haryana dated 05/08/2020. A report was sought from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) with reference to the allegation of illegal extraction of groundwater and discharge of polluted water with dyes and chemicals into the drain by the National Woollen & Finishers at Plot No. 302, Sector 29, Part-II, Panipat, Haryana.

The unit was found to be extracting ground water without Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) permission.

Groundwater is a dynamic and replenishable precious natural resource. It requires to be monitored regularly and also to be appraised of the changes that are taking place in this regime. In this regard, Central Ground Water Board collects the groundwater level and quality data from the Groundwater Regime Monitoring Stations.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rakesh Kumar Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi dated 13/07/2020.

Action taken report by the Delhi Jal Board of June 15, 2020 against illegal extraction of ground water at Maya Puri for commercial purposes after survey in compliance of National Green Tribunal order in the case of Nand Kishore Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi in OA No. 970/2019.

The ground water level monitoring carried out by Central Ground Water Board, Southern Region, and Hyderabad during 2019-20 is compiled in the form of Ground Water Year Book. It outlines the ground water level behaviour in the current year with reference to the corresponding periods of previous year and also with last decadal mean.

Report by Central Groundwater Authority (CGWA) in OA No. 685 of 2019 in the matter of Rakesh Kumar Vs GNCTD in compliance of National Green Tribunal order of May 15, 2020. The report deals with remedial action against falling groundwater levels in the NCT of Delhi. The NGT had directed for devising suitable effective mechanisms for preventing extraction of groundwater by way of unauthorized tubewells and wherever such illegalities are found, prompt coercive measures should be taken.

Counter affidavit/reply on behalf of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. An application was filed before the NGT to prevent wastage and misuse of groundwater on account of overflow from overhead tanks in residential and commercial areas. The applicant had also pointed out various other methods by which the potable drinking water was wasted.
