Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) has severed its ties with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) by mutual consent with immediate effect.

Hyderabad, Sept. 22: Sidelining the concerns over the health effects of dioxin and furan emissions into the atmosphere from incinerators, four more incinerator-based common bio-medical waste treatment plants are being planned in the state. The facilities will be set up by private entrepreneurs in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Nellore and Medak districts in about six months.

HYDERABAD: A significant milestone in commencing work on the Rs. 12,132-crore Hyderabad metro rail project was reached when the Andhra Pradesh government and Maytas Metro Limited , special purpose vehicle constituted to implement it, signed a concession agreement here on Friday.

Hyderabad, Sept. 7: Four years after the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, promised daily water supply to the city, the Water Board is finally making arrangements to provide two-hour drinking water supply every day to the citizens in the core city from November 1. However, lakhs of citizens in the erstwhile 12 surrounding municipalities on the outskirts will continue to get supply only twice a week even after it.

Hyderabad Sept. 4: Several MLCs on Thursday expressed concern over the pollution in Hussainsagar and asked the municipal administration department take immediate steps to control the inflow of industrial effluents into the lake. The Congress MLC Kanukula Janaradhan Reddy raised the issue during the question hour in the Council and said pollution had become a health hazard to the people residing in the surrounding areas.

Hyderabad, Sept. 2: A rare Black Widow spider was found at L B Nagar and Meerpet in the outskirts of the city recently. The spider is venomous and has been responsible for several deaths in America and Australia.
Wildlife biologists have approached the National History Museums in America and Australia to identify the species.
