On The Urban Debate tonight, Tanvi Shukla discusses the adulteration of honey that has been claimed by Delhi based advocacy group, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) on Wednesday. CSE has claimed that 77 percent of samples from India's top honey brands were found to use the modified syrup in their honey to clear the safety tests. Only 3 of the 13 brands which include, Saffola, Markfed Sohna, and Nature’s Nectar were able to clear the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) tests. Even brands like Dabur and Patanjali have not cleared the test according to the allegation.

According to the information, the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has found that Chinese sugar syrup is being added to the honey by the most companies. CSE conducted honey samples of 13 companies, out of which 77 percent has been adulterated.
