The Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board (PCB) issued directions to the Sabacchus Distillery Private Limited, at Redu Jhiriwala near Nalagarh, on Wednesday to stop production work, after serving a notice to it on May 11 over environment pollution.

Ahmedabad/ Vadodara: In a damning report, the central pollution control board (CPCB) proved that industries in and around Vadodara are dumping toxic chemicals into Mahi river and the Gulf of Cambay. The effluent being dumped are 15 times more polluted than the accepted norms.

GUWAHATI, May 12: The All Assam Shramik Krishak Kalyan Parishad (AASKKP) has blamed three Cabinet ministers and top officials of the State Industries and Commerce and Agriculture departments for the mushroom growth of polluting industrial units in agricultural land in Sonapur, Amingaon, Azara and Kshetri areas.

Anantapur, May 11: Hundreds of unregistered granite and slab industries have been evading taxes in Tadipatri in Anantapur district for some years.

There are about 200 granite and 1,500 slab industries in Tadipatri, of which 61 are granite and 632 slab industries are unregistered. But these industries are operating by flouting norms with officials support.
