The effects of pesticides and other chemicals have been studied by many workers in fishes. In the present study the effect of pesticides endosulphan and sonatox on some visceral organs of Oreochromis mosambicus have been observed the renal tissues affected and showed remarkable karyo and cytometric change.

Tomato, cabbage, and garden egg are important crops for small-scale farmers and migrants in the rural and peri-urban areas of Ghana. Genetic modification has the potential to alleviate poverty through combating yield losses from pests and diseases in these crops, while reducing health risks from application of hazardous chemicals. This study uses farm survey data to gauge the potential for adoption of genetically modified varieties, estimate the potential impact of adoption on farm profits, and highlight economic differences among the three crops.

The effects of an insecticide monocrotophos on some biochemical parameters of the fish, Tilapia mossambica at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hrs of exposures were studied. Median lethal concentration of monocrotophos to the fish for 24 hour exposure was determined during bioassay study. The protein contents were found to be declined in all the samples analyzed during all the exposure periods.

Cotton, as a commercial crop has gone through subsistence, ecological, exploitation, crisis and disaster phases of pest management, with insecticides on focus at the later three stages. Outbreaks of malaria are being reported in various parts of the province of Sindh, with local people blaming the authorities for failing to carry out preventive measures, including the spraying of insecticide to kill mosquitoes during the pre-spring breeding season.
