Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Niranjan Sharma & Others Vs Ministry of Environment, Forest & Others dated 11/04/2017 regarding mining lease over government and tenancy land irrespective of the area even if the area of mining lease is less than 5 Ha.

NGT directs the State of Jharkhand not to give effect to the Jharkhand Minor Mineral Concession Amendment Rules, 2017 until it reaches its finality.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal dated 07/03/2017 in the matter of Sadi Ram Vs Ministry of Environment & Forest & Others regarding mining operations without Environment Clearance in village Chokuni, District Almora, Uttarakhand. NGT directs payment of environmental compensation of Rs. 5 lakh for illegal and unauthorized felling/cutting of 27 trees, in violation of the laws in force.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sandeep Kumar Vs. MoEF & Others dated 04/01/2017 regarding illegal and unauthorized mining in the state of Uttarakhand. NGT directs the Government of Uttarakhand to file an affidavit on the extent of environmental degradation caused by illegal mining and the estimated environmental compensation that the Respondents (miners) would be liable to pay.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Upendra Prasad Pandey Vs Ministry of Environment and Forests & Others dated 05/09/2016 regarding disposal of fly ash in the rivulet and the water body near Village Gidher and also at Orgari (District Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh) by Hindalco Industry Ltd.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gurpreet Singh Bagga Vs. MoEF & Ors. dated 22/04/2016 regarding illegal mining activity in the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. NGT directs MoEF to place the mining plan of the state of Uttar Pradesh before the Tribunal without any further delay and said that the "matter is being delayed unnecessarily with serious consequences in relation to mining Activity in both the State of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh."

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of K.S. Rajan Vs Ministry of Environment & Forests & Others dated 04/11/2015 regarding quarrying activities in Survey Nos.270/2-1, 2-2, 2-3 of Malayalapuzha Village, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala.

 

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. MoEF & Ors. dated 02/11/2015 regarding illegal, unauthorized and unscientific mining in the river bed of Yamuna.

According to the Applicant illegal mining is occuring on both sides of River Yamuna, one falling in the State of Haryana – Faridabad and other Gautam Budh Nagar – State of Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Gurpreet Singh Bagga Vs. MoEF & Ors. dated 19/10/2015 regarding illegal mining.

NGT directs the Counsel appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh to file requisite documents to support their contentions that it is in fact the State of Haryana which is responsible for illegal mining.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zonal Bench, Chennai) in the matter of K. Savad Vs Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Others dated 31/08/2015 regarding construction activities in Kodancheri and Nellipoyil Villages among others in Kozhikode District, Kerala which are within the purview of Ecologically Fragile Land (EFL) as per the reports of Prof. Madhav Gadgil and Dr. Kasthuri Rangan Committees submitted to the Government of India and the same was notified on 13-11-2013.
