The Godavari-Krishana-Penna river linking project does not have be requisite clearance from the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). This application was taken up before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on August 13, 2019.

The issue for consideration is obstruction of tiger corridors by new road projects in the State of Maharashtra. Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Him Jagriti Uttaranchal Welfare Society Vs Union of India & Others dated 31/05/2019 regarding restriction on use of plastic bottles and multi layered plastic packages used for packaging of carbonated soft drink and liquor as well as other items, in view of the adverse impact on the environment and health. The Tribunal issued notice on 29.01.2014 and has been considering the matter for more than five years.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Pradip Kumar Bhuyan & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 16/05/2019 regarding lack of adequate steps for free passage of elephants in Assam. According to the applicant, railway tracks, national and state highways and transmission lines should be declared as elephant protection zones in the nature of ecological sensitive areas. Elephant deaths are taking place due to train accidents, electrocution and other human interventions which result in degradation of forest habitats.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jitender Yadav Vs Union of India & Others dated 16/05/2019 regarding unscientific disposal of municipal solid waste at Almora, state of Uttarakhand.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Birendra Singh Vs Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Others dated 07/05/2019 regarding finalising a standard to determine a 'deemed forest" for Uttarakhand.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Goa Foundation Vs Union of India dated 07/05/2019 regarding finalization of the notification of eco-sensitive zone in the Western Ghat. Inspite of the NGT order dated 24/08/2018 asking for the matter to be finalized within six months and the undertaking given by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) dated 08/09/2017 that final notification would be issued as expeditiously as possible and in any case within 12 months.
