The Ministry of Law and Justice has given a green signal to the government to sign a deal with Monsanto, a US-based agriculture firm, to introduce certified Bt Cotton seed for enhancing cotton production.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28: A memorandum of understanding would be signed with an American seed company Monsanto in February, paving way for supply of certified bio-tech (BT) cotton seeds in the country, minister for food and agriculture Nazar Mohammad Gondal said here on Thursday.

He was presiding over a meeting of all stakeholders before signing the deal with the seed company.
