UNDP Survey Uses Composite Indicator To Put Poverty Figure At 645 Million

BHUBANESWAR: Finally, the Government has woken up to the severity of malnutrition gripping the State. A contingency plan has been drawn up for the 15 high-burden districts having high incidence of malnutrition.

Government staff of Khandwa district will undertake efforts for eradication of malnutrition. In this connection, the Khandwa collector convened a meeting of all the departmental heads and administered them a pledge that every government employee will adopt a malnourished child with a view to helping his family to raise the child in a better way while ensuring the child's health and nutrition.

A Planning Commission survey has found startling lapses in the celebrated Mid Day Meal programme of the government.

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet today gave its nod for tabling the Madhya Pradesh Kapas Beej Vidheyak 2010 (Madhya Pradsh Cotton Seeds Bill 2010) in the coming monsoon session of the Assembly.
After promulgation of the Act, the state government will have full control over cottonseed rates and farmers will be able to get the same at reasonable rates, an official release said here today.
