Istanbul's Historic Peninsula, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, has been compromised by rapid and uncontrolled urban growth. In order to restore public space and revitalize the city center, Istanbul pedestrianized over 250 streets between 2010 and 2012.

EPCA Report - Report on priority measures to reduce air pollution and protect public health in the matter of W.P. (C) No.13029 of 1985; M.C. Mehta v/s UOI & others. The report states that Delhi was able to arrest and lower air pollution with its first phase of action directed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court. But Delhi could not sustain these gains and air pollution levels are rising again. Growing pollution especially from vehicles and delayed action have enhanced public health risk.

This first-of-its kind Citizens’ Transportation Status Report 2013 for Pune released by Parisar and Save Pune Traffic Movement (SPTM) reveals the need to increase share of public and non-motorized transport in the city.

The overarching objective of the parking policy is to develop parking places and organise parking activities for all types of modes of transport .The policy also aims to discourage daily usage of personalized motorized vehicles, promotion of mass transportation and use of non-motorized transport system.
