Agartala: Tripura is facing a serious crisis of petrol, diesel and LPG due to non-loading of tankers from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) outlets in Assam, state Civil Supplies Minister Manik Dey said on Sunday.

OIL and gas minister Murli Deora on Friday dashed hopes of total freedom to oil and gas companies in fixing prices of petrol, saying that the government will intervene to protect consumers from high volatility.

The Rajasthan Government is unlikely to act on the suggestion of Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on altering its sales tax structure on petrol and diesel to make them cheaper in the State.
