Residents of Manara gram panchayat in Purulia have been suffering due to lack of proper drinking water and irrigation facilities for quite a long time as Dhabani water dam ~ only source of water ~ lies defunct for several years.
The local panchayat built the dam in 1995 to supply purified drinking water to the villagers.
