This working paper is based on research carried out as commission work for the Ministry of Environment, Japan (MOEJ). It presents the analysis of climate benefits through the 3Rs focusing on organic waste management. It shows separate treatment hierarchies for different kinds of organic waste and recommendations for selection of appropriate treatment technologies for these wastes.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi launched "Van Mahotsav-2008' with the Leader of the MCD House Subhash Arya planting a sapling at a sanitary landfill site at Hastsal in West Delhi on Sunday.

The total area of landfill is about 16 acre and while the civic body has developed a park on two acres at the site, the remaining land would be developed into a children park and herbal garden in a phased manner.

Mumbai, June 29 With the city topping the list in generating the highest amount of electronic waste in the country, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) along with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) will soon be searching for a landfill site exclusive to treat and dump e-waste as a pilot project.
