AHMEDABAD: Soon after a course on carbon credits was launched in the most premium management institute of the country, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A ) is exploring options of earning some carbon credits for itself. Akshat Khare - an alumnus of IIM-A from the 2007 batch and was among the six students who had ventured on their own - is helping the institute explore the option of using solar energy to illuminate the campus.

New Delhi: The Capital is now looking at installing solar-powered traffic signals at major intersections in the city. With this, traffic jams caused by signals rendered non-functional due to power failure or heavy rain may soon become a thing of the past. CHENNAI: The Chennai Division of Southern Railway is adopting energy conservation measures in view of the power situation prevailing in the State.

Power consumption is going up by leaps and bounds in the Division in view of additional facilities such as lifts, escalators and enhanced illumination provided at the railway stations. The Division is consuming about 38 lakh units a month.
