Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs. Union of India & Others dated 03/12/2014 regarding pollution around Jagannath Temple, Puri, Odisha.

NGT has directed officials from Odisha to submit details of the sewerage system in Puri and summoned the principal secretary, department of environment and forests, Government of Odisha, the chief executive officer and the executive engineer of Puri Municipality to appear before it personally on March 14 to explain why adequate attention is not being paid to pollution and ecological degradation at Puri. Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs. Union of India & Others dated 22/10/2013 on the issue of degradation of environment of Jagganath Puri, Temple and its precincts. The NGT order states that the report of the Orissa Pollution Control Board shows water samples at Pejanallah which reveals that waste water of outlet of Penjanallah that drains Lord Jagannath Temple Rosasala discharges into the municipal drain. The water quality parameters were not only beyond the prescribed parameters but show devastating results.
