Spate of tiger mortalities continues unabated in India

Even as 13 countries agreed to double the number of tigers by 2022, in the recent World Tiger Summit in Russia, the spate of tiger mortalities continues in the country. While one injured tigress from Corbett died on Sunday, another was recently found dead near Tadoba reserve in Chandipur in Maharashtra.

Two more tiger reserves in Maha

Nagpur: Saving the tiger has received a fillip as two more wildlife sanctuaries in Vidarbha are to get tiger reserve status. Maharashtra already has four reserves at Pench, Tadoba-Andhari and Melghat in Vidarbha as well as Sahyadri in western Maharashtra.
