A meeting convened by the District Collector on Monday to discuss ways to clear the accumulated garbage in the city could not find any effective solution.
The meeting was called to reach a consensus with the agitating Lalur Malineekarana Viruddha Samara Samithi. The effort was to clear the rotten garbage before the Thrisur Pooram, which will be celebrated on May 1.
The project will be free of cost to the government
A team from Britain on Wednesday presented a project to solve the city's garbage problem at the Thrissur Corporation council. The team representing R.C.R. Power Ltd. offered the England–model solution for the corporation' waste woes free of cost to the corporation or the government.
