KOKRAJHAR, May 7: The felling of valuable trees at Ripu and Chirang Reserve Forests in Kokrajhar district and smuggling is continuing unabated despite BTC Forest Department has taken initiatives to check it.

The raid was conducted by District Forest Officer in Ampara, Lalith Gamage on information received by him.
Chandigarh: After the Aravali forest reserves, the Union minister of environment has declared the Sultanpur wildlife sanctuary, a destination for eco-tourists in NCR, an eco-sensitive zone (ESZ).
