Elementary education in dire straits in Mohali

Mohali: The future of young impressionable minds in government schools in Mohali district seems to be bleak in the view of the dire straits of elementary education.

Boasting of several institutes of national repute, this adjoining district of Chandigarh still has several schools which lack drinking water, toilets, teachers and buildings.

This article examines and discusses the knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) related to sanitation in Unsar Pranti in Muzaffarpur district, in Bihar. The findings are based on fieldwork done during October-November 2008. An NGO called ADTHI PLAN has been working on a sanitation project in the village for the past ten years.
