Aug. 30: At least two mega projects in the city that were supposed to give relief to people from parking and housing woes have hit a roadblock with a state-level green body questioning how they started the work without getting the necessary environmental clearances.

NEW DELHI: In a bid to present a lush green Capital to visitors during the upcoming Commonwealth Games, the Delhi Government is considering a move to cover pillars supporting bridges and flyovers with extensive greenery.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought response from the Centre and the Delhi government on a PIL seeking its direction to de-concretise pavements in the capital.

The petition pointed out that trees on the pavements have become weak due to concretisation as roots were not getting sufficient nourishment.
