The only genuine untouched lung spaces are the famed Cubbon Park and Lal Bagh, besides the large tracts that the army has inherited from the British in the Cantonment area.

Even after the government directed the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to stop all construction work at Lal Bagh and R V Road, the work is still being carried out, alleged environmentalists on Monday.

"BMRCL should heed the voice of the people."

The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Delhi Development Authority to suggest various ways and means to ensure that no damage is made to the green belt of the Siri Fort area.
