Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Vanashakti & Others dated 03/07/2023.

The matter related to dumping of debris at the bank of Mithi river near Tapeshwar Mandir, Aarey forest, which is prohibited as per the Management of Construction and Demolition Waste Rules, 2016. As proof, photographs have been given. The court was apprised of the fact that the authorities were informed about the illegal dumping of debris being done at the bank of Mithi river but no action has been taken.

Order of the Supreme Court in the matter of Vanashakti & Other Vs Union of India & Others dated 27/03/2023.

The Supreme Court directed the Union Government to place on record the final report of the Dr S K Khurana sub committee and the report dated September 6, 2022 of the committee chaired by Dr T P Rajendran. The Union Government was also directed to file a further affidavit explaining the basis on which action has been taken presently only with respect to three pesticides in the notification dated 2 February 2023.

Judgement of the High Court of Judicature at Bombay in the matter of Vanashakti & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 04/10/2019. Applications were filed for declaring the entire area of Aarey Colony ad measuring 1280 hectare as a ‘Reserved Forest’ or a ‘Protected Forest’ as the case may be, under the Indian Forest Act, 1927 and direct Forest Department Government of Maharashtra to issue a formal notification to that effect under the Indian Forest Act, 1927.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zonal Bench, Pune) in the matter of Vanashakti & Others Vs The State of Maharashtra & Ors. dated 19/02/2016 regarding the broadening and deepening the mouth of the Kiranpani section of the Terekhol creek, Maharashtra.

NGT directs the State of Goa to be made a party-Respondent to the present Application as a small portion of mouth of creek within the State of Goa.
