Workers flee Jaitapur project site

Workers employed at the Jaitapur nuclear power project site at Madban village have fled after the violent incidents on April 18 when a mob damaged equipment and indulged in arson.

A Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) spokesperson on Thursday told The Hindu on the phone that workers have left since the situation was not conducive to staying there.

Impact of ASEAN-India preferential trade agreement on plantation commodities: A simulation analysis

This study analyses the impact of the asean-India Preferential Trade Agreement on plantation commodities – coffee, tea and pepper – using the smart and gravity models. This reveals that the agreement may cause a significant increase in India’s imports of plantation commodities from the asean countries, which is mostly driven by trade creation rather than trade diversion.
