Climate Parliament Demands Comprehensive Policy, Regulatory and Financial Initiatives for Renewable Energy

Climate Parliament, the multi-party network of Parliamentarian to promote renewable energy, asked the Government to immediately launch the National Clean Energy Mission for 75 million households of the country, who are living without energy access. The network submitted today an Expert Report and Memorandum to the Ministers of New and Renewable Energy, Power, Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission as a follow up of their Memorandum to the Prime Minister. The Memorandum suggests the Government to set up an institutional framework for coordination among the nodal Ministries, as opposed to the present disconnect between these different Ministries. This is critical for the integration of renewable energy in various existing and upcoming governmental schemes and policies.
