Land released to private builders by successive governments in Punjab, including the controversial 32 acres exempted by the Congress which led to the expulsion of Amarinder Singh from the state Assembly, has driven farmers up the wall.

About 1,000 persons, whose land was acquired by the Government and handed over to the Amritsar Improvement Trust some time ago, are now demanding it back.
