Water supply and sewerage are essential components of infrastructure for urban settlements. The target for the Eleventh Five Year Plan (March 2012) has been kept at 985 MGD (million gallons a day) of water treated and supplied by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in Delhi according to the Economic Survey of Delhi 2007-08.
