Govt's land grab [1]

To give a big push to industrialisation, the State government is acquiring agricultural lands on a large scale, often by fudging records; filling up water bodies; and felling hundreds of trees, using a draconian law that allows it to do so for public purpose, according to NGO activists. However, the law does not define public purpose.
