A group of activists led by Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh met Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh today and demanded that the government should do more for the effective implementation of the New Ganga and Yamuna Action Plans.
The All Ganga Yamuna Panchayat presented a charter of demands to the Minister, expressing concern over the degrading state of the two rivers.
