Earthquake Toll Tops 300, Tsunami Does Little Harm
Sao Paulo: A day after an 8.8-magnitude temblor struck central Chile, the picture in the interiors was that of absolute catastrophe, even as coastal areas from Australia to the Russian far east and Hawaii heaved a sigh of relief as the feared tsunami waves triggered by the quake did little damage anywhere, except in Japan.
