Drop in oxygen level led to fish kill [1]

The mysterious death of about hundreds of fish in the Cubbon Park pond on Wednesday has been attributed to pollution caused by sewage water seeping into the pond.

The sewage water had triggered a severe depletion of oxygen level, choking the fish to death. The fish died due to dirty water that flowed into the pond during the rains, said a staffer at the Bal Bhavan office.
