Chandigarh: Within two days of the first monsoon showers, northern India was reeling under the impact of sharp downpours, with parts of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh flooded and arterial highways connecting Delhi to northern towns either blocked by swirling waters or threatened with inundation.
